[Netherlands 2019] Amsterdam - Canal Pedal Boat Rental + City Centre [Part Three]

Day 2 - Pedal Boat + City Centre

This is how our Botel room looks like in the morning :)
We were staying in the ground floor, the ocean was just below our feet!!
You can see and hear the pedestrians outside from the window~

I would not say it was a great experience (it's quite cheap actually)
Especially the bathroom, a bit old and small.
But everything was fine for one night stay.

Say goodbye to Botel~

Originally, our plan for today is PEDAL BOAT → ANNE FRANK HOUSE → CITY CENTRE.

However we didn't manage to get the ticket for Anne Frank House.  It's required to book online and it's usually fully booked a month ago...we were too late...ಥ_ಥ

I aimed at the remaining 20% same-day ticket released at 9am. We both enter the website since 8:50am, the queue number was crazy... Around 900...Even though the moving speed isn't slow, BUT IT DISCONNECTED TOO MANY TIMES THEN WE HAD TO RE-QUEUE !!

We kept queuing on the ferry until we got on the pedal boats. When we finally entered the ticket booking page...SOLD OUT T_T

~~

In Amsterdam, only the company Stromma provides pedal boats rental. There are Stromma's visitor centres in different sites, but the Central Station's branch is not providing pedal boats. We got rejected there :( So we have to take the tram to another site.

There are three sites you can choose: Anne Frank House, Leidseplein and Rijksmuseum.

Eventually we took the one in Leidseplein, got 15% discount by showing I Amsterdam city card.

Finally got on our pedal boat!

First time not wearing a life jacket on the boat lol, was a bit scared ahahaha~
Searched for the depth of canal, it's around 2-3m... still taller than me!!! -_-

The weather was so bright and sunny~
The staff said it's rare to have such good weather in winter morning! :)

Pedaling was so fun!

Steady Yuhong~

Luckily we are not facing the sunbeam~
Could feel the warmth on our back without scorching our eyes.

Some cute looking boathouses.
I wonder how would it feel like staying on it.

There were some pigeons nesting between the bricks under the bridge.

Hallo Rijikmuseum!

Our boat trip lasted for 1 hour (cheapest option)

We felt hungry so we went for Dutch pancake again~~
This time we opt for the sweet one - Apple pancake!
The shop Pancakes Amsterdam is famous, the food is nice, but the waiter forgot our order and made us waited for 1 hour...

Strolling along the street.

Bicycles were everywhere...!

Amsterdam Oersoep - a beautiful hallway located in the heart of the shopping street.

Finally it's time to say goodbye~ TT
We took the ferry back to Botel to retrieve our luggage (free storage after check out!) and sat on the grass facing the sea while waiting for the returning ferry.
It was so chill~ ( ´ ∀ ` )

But the ferry was so late...
It made me almost late for my flight lol... -_-

Well, this is the end of my trip in Netherlands~
Really enjoyed my time in this highly developed yet chilling country!
Thanks for reading!!
